MIT World Peace University & SKODA AUTO Volkswagen India signs MoU to provide industry exposure to students

Apart from providing students with industry exposure, the partnership aims to build a research ecosystem for Mechanical, ECE, Robotics & Automation students, fostering a culture of innovation

New Delhi: MIT World Peace University’s (MIT-WPU) Faculty of Engineering and Technology announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL). This significant industry partnership will play a crucial role in bridging the industry-academia gaps for students. Driving a strong industry exposure for MIT-WPU students through this partnership, the MoU will ensure that students are provided with opportunities for internships, placements, live projects, industry visits, guest lectures, campus recruitment and industry inputs on curriculum.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Sanjay Khare, Head – Sustainability, Safety & Environment, SAVWIPL, Mr. Sarma Chillara, Director- HR & admin, SAVWIPL and Mr. K T Vijayan, Head – Academy, SAVWIPL; and Dr. Prasad Khandekar, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, MIT-WPU, Dr. Bharat Chaudhuri, Dean, Academics, MIT-WPU and Prof. Heramb Phadake, Assistant Professor, MIT-WPU on behalf of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, MIT-WPU at the university campus.

Announcing this impactful alliance between the two organizations, Mr. Pravin V Patil, Senior Director – Centre for Industry-Academia Partnerships (CIAP), MIT World Peace University, said, “We are delighted to join hands with SKODA AUTO Volkswagen India, a prominent automobile major and an industry leader to help further the learning for our engineering students and provide them with relevant industry exposure. The MoU lays down the scope and objectives to reach an agreement on the modalities and terms of long-term association in identified areas of partnership. SKODA AUTO Volkswagen India intends to provide employment opportunities to the engineering students of MIT-WPU along with industry exposure. This collaboration comes with opportunities for internships, live projects, industry visits, guest lectures, campus recruitment and inputs on curriculum design.

MIT-WPU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology believes that this association will benefit their students, making them future-ready in various ways by teaching them how to tackle more complex problems, independently; including how to delegate roles and responsibilities. Further, they feel that this will help the students to learn teamwork, share diverse perspectives, foster a culture of innovation and develop into able citizens of the society.
