Mobile Eye Testing Camp for commercial drivers organized in Reasi

 

REASI : In a collaborative effort between the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Reasi, Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur, and Transport Associations, a Mobile Eye Testing Camp and awareness camp for commercial drivers was successfully conducted today at the Bus Stand Reasi.

District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The Mobile Eye Testing Camp saw active participation from hundreds of commercial drivers and conductors. A team of expert doctors conducted screenings, including blood pressure and eye tests, aiming to address health concerns and promote road safety.

In addition to the medical screenings, free medicines, eye drops, and creams were distributed among drivers who were identified with various ailments and eye problems/irritations.

District Development Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, addressing the gathering, emphasized the crucial role drivers play in ensuring road safety. He urged drivers to adhere to all precautions and road safety measures while driving and encouraged them to raise awareness among their family and friends about the importance of following precautionary measures.He urged drivers to prioritize safety by avoiding rash driving, abstaining from driving under the influence of alcohol, and adhering to speed limits.

“This initiative is not only about addressing immediate health concerns but is a sustained effort to enhance the visual health of drivers, ultimately contributing to safer roads and a reduced risk of accidents,” stated DDC Mahajan.

He said collaborative initiative between MVD Reasi, Rotary Eye Hospital Udhampur, and Transport Associations underscores the importance of public-private partnerships in promoting community well-being and road safety.

During the health checkup camp, Tara Mani, ARTO Reasi highlighted the significance of maintaining the health of drivers and cleaners to ensure quality service to the public.
