Modalities finalized for Mega Public-Officers interaction programme in Samba

DC Seeks cooperation from DDCs, BDCs, PRI members

SAMBA : District Administration Samba today finalized the modalities for holding Back to Village Phase IV programme after holding a series of meetings with stakeholders here today in the DC office.

Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta sought full cooperation of District Development Council members, including Chairperson and Vice Chairperson; Block Development Council members, Sarpanches for facilitating the district administration in reaching out to the people at the grassroots level to meet their aspirations.

Deputy Commissioner said “Starting from tomorrow government officers including top officers of LG administration will visit all 101 panchayats of Samba district under governance at doorstep initiative.

The DC informed that under Jan Abhiyan Programme district administration has achieved 100% saturation under social security schemes, establishment of village haats, conduct of GPDPs, awareness camps, establishment of Patwar Khanas, Senior Citizen clubs, organizing sports events, shifting to RCMS etc. besides arranging the visit of administrative Secretaries, HODs and district officers during Jan Abhiyan Programme.

It was further informed that 78 officers from Secretariat and 23 officers of district administration have been deputed to assess the implementation of government schemes and development works completed in panchayats . “Visiting officers will collect action taken reports on the issues raised in previous B2V phases, review the ongoing, completed development works under PRI grants, UT Plan, MGNREGA and other schemes” added the DC Samba.

The visiting officers will stay for two days in their allotted Panchayats and prepare a report for holistic development at grassroots level.

Elaborating the Back to village initiatives, she said “It is a kind of bottom-up approach and is better than top down approach with regard to Policy Planning.”

Earlier, the Deputy reviewed the progress achieved in various vital indicators under Jan Abhiyan Programme and directed the district officers to encourage the field staff for 100% commitment in ensuring successful conduct of the Back to village programme in the district.
