Modalities for establishment of one stop centre worked out at Udhampur
Udhampur: The modalities for establishment of one stop centres in the district were today worked out here at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla.
The meeting was attended by Senior Consultant Ministry of Women and Child Development Govt of India Dr Jupaka Madhavi, besides functionaries of District Social Welfare Department.
Dr Madhavi briefed the meeting that One Stop Centres (OSCs) are intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace.
The women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, irrespective of age, class, caste, education status, marital status, race and culture will be facilitated with support and redressal, she added.
Aggrieved women facing any kind of violence due to attempted sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, honour related crimes, acid attacks or witch-hunting who have reached out or been referred to the OSC will be provided with specialized services.
She further added that the OSCs will be integrated with 181 and other existing help lines. Women affected by violence and in need of redress services could be referred to OSC through these help lines.
The DDC directed the Social Welfare Department to establish the OSC in the premises of ICDS building at Udhampur immediately enable the victims of violence to avail the services. Necessary directions were also given to other line departments for the establishment of OSC at the earliest.
Among others, ADDC Ashok Kumar; DSWO, Priyanka Sharma; CDPO Udhampur, Yashpaul Sharma; officers of Mahila Shakti Kendra were also present in the meeting.
