Model and Fitness enthusiast Milind Soman joins 3000 runners in Gurugram to mark India’s 76th anniversary of independence

Gurugram : DPS International Edge organized ‘Freedom Run’, a first-of-its-kind family run after the pandemic, on Sunday, 7th August to mark 76 years to our Independence. The event was honoured and celebrated with the famous actor, model & fitness enthusiast, Milind Soman. The Freedom Run was organized as a tribute to our motherland and to promote the ideology of health and fitness among citizens. Following the pandemic, it is the first national event celebrated on a grand scale with the goal of strengthening patriotism in students.

3000 runners joined DPS International Edge for its maiden family run, Freedom Run, today from 5:30 am to 7 am. Having begun at DPS International Edge, Gurugram, the run followed a route of 5km and 10km. respectively, which culminated at the starting point and were supported by Mr. Mukesh Mishra- Founder, Jaipur Runner’s club and a Guest appearance by Milind Soman.

The run was conceptualized and envisioned by Ms. Devyani Jaipuria, Pro-Vice Chairperson, DPS International Edge. Commenting on the run, Ms. Jaipuria said, “The response to the Freedom Run has been overwhelming. Originally planned as a 1500-person run, the number of registrations far exceeded our expectations in the wave of patriotic fever. The fact that Milind Soman was leading the run encouraged many participants to put their best foot forward. Knowledge and affinity for sports is a very important tool to encourage students’ holistic learning. This event was conceptualised at DPS International Edge with the objective of promoting grassroots awareness for fitness and uniting people again after the pandemic to celebrate this occasion.”

Milind Soman, actor, model and fitness-enthusiast led the run for DPSI. In the past, Soman has contributed to several runs with a cause. Talking about Freedom Run, Milind Soman said, “Thankyou for having me at the Freedom Run 2022. This independence day lets , take a pledge to enjoy the unity of our culture. Salute to the bravehearts, their hard work and accomplishments. Jai Hind”

All participants were immensely satisfied after the run. A closing ceremony was held after the run at DPS International Edge to thank the runners with medals for participating in the cause.
