Mohali printing press to be equipped with latest technology: Sadhu Singh Dharamsot

Mohali: The Department of Printing and Stationery has been directed to submit a proposal for modernising the Mohali printing press because the facelifting of printing facility is the need of the hour. These views were expressed here today by the Forest and Wildlife Preservation, Social Welfare, Printing and Stationery Minister, Punjab, S. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot while on a visit to the Mohali Printing Press.

The minister visited the various sections of the unit such as the Printing, Binding, Desktop Publishing, Proofreading, Planning, Computing, Gazette Notification, Dispatch, Establishment, Publication, Photo Process, Plate Making and Pasting and was apprised in detail about the entire technical process leading to the printing of the Government stationery such as diaries, calendars and pamphlets.

He also underscored the need to upgrade existing press mechanism fitted with latest technology machines and digital infrastructure.

The minister meanwhile also exhorted the people to strengthen the hands of the State Government in the fight against corona virus by strictly adhering to the various guidelines and precautionary measures such as maintaining the social distance, Wearing of masks whenever going out, desisting from shaking hands and not going out of homes when not required. He also added that without the cooperation of the common people, the mission cannot succeed.
