Monash Tops Victorian universities for graduate outcomes

More Monash University undergraduates gained full-time employment after completing their studies in 2019 than any other Victorian university, new data shows.

The 2020 Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS), shows 72.3 per cent of domestic undergraduate students found full-time employment within six months of completing a course at Monash.

This was the highest proportion of undergraduate employment from a single university in Victoria, and the third-best performance among the Group of Eight (Go8) universities.

The GOS, part of a suite of Federal Government-endorsed surveys known as the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT), also ranked Monash first in Victoria for full-time graduate employment in the disciplines of science and mathematics, nursing, pharmacy, social work, law and communications.

Overall, 86.6 per cent of domestic undergraduates available for work found full or part-time employment within six months. Some 23 per cent of graduates continued in full-time study.

For domestic postgraduate students, 85.4 per cent found full-time employment within six months, while 91.4 per cent were working in some capacity.

The GOS results come after the QILT Student Experience Survey 2019 found Monash had an overall quality of education experience of 78.6 per cent. In addition, Monash has an impressive student retention rate of 91.4 per cent.
