MoRD initiative on Financial Literacy: Training to CRPs concludes at Pulwama

 

PULWAMA : To take the financial literacy initiative forward, NRLM Pulwama in collaboration with RSETI Pulwama concluded week long financial literacy Training to Community resource persons today.

Meanwhile, the MoRD Under National Rural Livelihoods Mission, supports in building institutions of the poor by undertaking financial literacy initiatives with focus on financial empowerment of women, which includes credit linkage with Banks to achieve the desired goal.

DPM-FI, Sakib Shafi while speaking on the occasion said that to impart Financial Literacy through a series of trainings, to create a Pool of Master Trainers; at district level and at District level, these trained Master trainers would, in turn, conduct training to community cadre personnel to be called as ‘Financial Literacy CRPs (FL-CRPs)’. At village level, there would be a Team of FL-CRP’ to impart training to SHG members.

Programme Manager NRLM Pulwama, Arsheed Ahmad Bhat said that these trained leaders/representatives, in turn, sensitize the members of SHG in the regular meetings of the group. FL intervention would be rolled out at CLF level.

Lead District Manager Pulwama, Khursheed said that the provision of SHGs in the UMEED scheme provides women a platform to become entrepreneurs and nurture them till they come out of poverty and enjoy a decent quality of life.

FLCC, Rashid ud din informed the audience about financial planning, savings, advantages of savings with banks, concept of Business Correspondents, khidmat centres, difference between formal and informal source of borrowings and different type of borrowings.

Distribution of the kits among SHG members in the presence of Director RSETI Pulwama was also held.
