MP Jugal Kishore Sharma releases Prof Dhar’s Book at GDC Jindrah
JAMMU : Member Parliament (Lok Sabha), Jugal Kishore Sharma on Thursday released a book titled NEP-2020: Conception of a Modern Knowledge Society written by Prof.(Dr.) Raj Shree Dhar, here at a book Release Function hosted in Government Degree College Jindrah. A prolific academician, Prof Dhar is the Principal of GDC Jindhra.
Former MLA Devender Singh Rana; Padam Shree, Prof. Shiv Dutt Nirmohi; All J&K Sarpanch Conference President, Anil Sharma; Tehsildar Dansal, Dhruv Gupta and other dignitaries including, a galaxy of teachers, literary persons, students and general public were present on the occasion.
The event also witnessed a splendid Folk Dance and Song competition among the school students of Jindrah held in collaboration with VARDAAN. The college students also presented the national song, Dogri Dance and a skit.
In his address, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma congratulated Dr. Dhar for contributing towards society by writing a book on New Education Policy-2020. He hoped the book would equally help teachers, students and other stakeholders to understand the spirit and vision of the NEP-2020. He emphasized on the need to equip the students with all different skills side by side academic education
Dr. Raj Shree Dhar, the author of the book, gave a brief on the contents and subject of the book. She said that the book was an attempt to explain the dawning of National Education Policy 2020, why and how it can be implemented, how India aims to be a global leader in education, about skill India mission etc. She shared her feelings regarding the process and her wish to publish after presenting her views in the first conference on NEP-2020 in September 2020 chaired by Hon’ble LG.
Devender Rana, former MLA said that it was heartening that the first book on NEP-2020 was released at GDC Jindrah. He impressed upon all the students and teachers to strive to have a deep insight about the New Education Policy.
Prof. Shiv Dutt Nirmohi and the guest of honour of the event deliberated upon the brilliant work and most wanted book for the public. Earlier, a folk dance competition was held among the students of Jindrah. The winners of the folk dance contest were awarded with distinctive prizes.
The author was presented a memento by VARDAAN. The proceedings of the function were conducted by Prof Jasneet Kour and Priya. The vote of thanks was delivered by Bodh Raj, Vardaan team President and President awardee.
