Mr. Vijay Chhibber Appointed as Director General of Electric Power Transmission Association (EPTA)

Hyderabad, : The Electric Power Transmission Association (EPTA) announced the appointment of Mr. Vijay Chhibber to the position of Director General effective 8th April 2020. In this role, Mr. Chhibber will be primarily responsible for engaging with stakeholders to further the goal of reliable 24×7 power supply through development of least cost transmission system throughout the country.

Mr. Vijay Chhibber is a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with over 37 years of public service in the Indian Administrative Services. In his earlier role, he was the Union Secretary Ministry of Road Transport and Highways with additional charge of Chairman, National Highways Authority of India. He has worked on several key assignments in the Government of India for the Ministries of Defence, Health, Commerce, Fertilizer, Shipping, Road Transport and as a Cabinet Secretariat. He was also Advisor to the Chief Minister, Government of Tripura.

Since its inception in 2012, Electric Power Transmission Association (“EPTA”) has been playing a key role in promoting transmission development at the Regional, National and Intra-state levels by providing a platform to strengthen synergies and knowledge sharing within the industry and with the Government.
