MSK Budgam organizes daylong programme on women Empowerment

 

BUDGAM : District Hub for Empowerment of Women (MSK) Single Window Support System for Women, organized a day-long awareness camp among three Halqa’s of Soibug A, Budgam

The camp was organized to generate awareness among Local Women about schemes offered by various department including Social Welfare, ICDS, Education, JKSWC, JKEDI, Handicrafts, Handloom and financial institution operation in the district for women empowerment.

During the camp participants were informed about skill development and training programmes provided under various schemes including Skill Mission Development, Himayat and UMEED.

Under these schemes the women are trained in various trades like cutting-tailoring, hairstyling, makeup art, data entry operation, office assistant and electrical technician, besides health service offered to the women under NHM, JSY, PMSMA, JSSK and Ayushman BaharatBaharat and restructured Marriage Assistance Scheme etc.

The team also raised an awareness on One Stop Centre and Women Help Line (181) which have been set up in the centre for women in distress including victims of domestic violence and harassment at home as well as at work place.

The centre also provides temporary shelter to the victims, besides legal services to the women through National, State and district legal services authorities.

Continuing the programme the team also stressed on Special cell for women and children budgam which is a project supported by National Commission for Women.

The main aim of this project is to provide psycho social, emotional, legal, medical and other types of assistance to the survivors of domestic violence. In a special cell for women there are 2 social workers working at police station chadoora to help the survivors of domestic violence.

The programme was attended by Supervisors, AWWs, female panchs and a huge number of local girls of the Halqa’s.
