MSK Doda provides Sanitary Napkins, face masks to women folk at Thanala village

Doda: The team of District Level Centre for Women (MSK) Doda today visited a far flung village of Thanala Bhaderwah.
The team, including District Coordinator, Humerah Balwan and Sanya Khan in collaboration with Sangheni Saheli an NGO distributed sanitary napkins and face masks among the rural women and girls.Most of the girls were provided the stuff were unaware of the benefits of the use of sanitary napkins and particularly of face masks amid Covid pandemic.
DLCW Doda is persistently working for poor, needy and underprivileged women especially of rural areas by educating them about health and hygiene, besides providing them Sanitary Napkins free of cost for menstrual hygiene. The MSK is taking lead in making rural women folk aware about the important issues of menstrual hygiene and health.
“It’s time to remove the taboo attached to menstruation and talk about women health and menstrual hygiene because women health matters because their live matters” the District Coordinator told the women folk.
The rural women of Thanala were oblivion of the concept of Sanitary napkins. The team of Mahila Shakti Kendra demonstrated to them how to use the sanitary napkins and the hazards of using unhygienic things during that period of the month, such as cloths. They were told that the unhygienic ways can lead to cervical cancer and infertility of women.
