MSK Poonch gears up to spread awareness on Women Welfare schemes

Poonch: To sensitise the women folk of far flung areas about various women centric schemes, Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Poonch, under the Supervision of District Development Commissioner, Inder Jeet and Programme Officer JKICDS, Dr.Mohd. Tanvir, organised awareness camp here at village Salotri, Jhullas.

Addressing the womenfolk, MSK, Women Welfare Officer, Priya Sharma, talked about women empowerment and stressed on the education of the girl child, which she said was the first step for empowering a women and Nation as a whole.

District Coordinator, Tirath Kour sensitised the women about the Women welfare schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, PMMVY, SAG Ujjwala, Swadhar Greh, One Stop Center, Women helpline 181 etc.

District Coordinator Nooreen Azam also spoke on basic rights of women and made the women folk aware regarding training programmes offered by various departments for unemployed youth and pension schemes for old ladies, widows handicapped and destitute women.
