MSK Rajouri, ICDS organise awareness programme at Manjakote

 

Rajouri: District Level Centre for Women (MSK) in collaboration with ICDS Department Rajouri today organised an awareness programme here at Manjakote.

During the programme hosted on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan, the MSK team interacted with women folk of the area and made them aware about women centric schemes like Sukanya Samridhi Yojna, PMMVY, UJJWALA, Swadhar Greh, Janani Suraksha Yojna, Ladli Beti, Poshan Abhiyan, women helpline no. 181 , child helpline no, Various pension schemes, state marriage assistance scheme, national family benefit scheme and other women oriented schemes.

In her address, Women Welfare Officer, Dr. Anum Mirza imparted awareness among the women about the role and responsibilities of the MSK including the way MSK supports the implementation of women centric schemes and provides an interface for rural women to approach the government for availing their entitlements.

She also highlighted the need for conservation of freshwater and urged upon the women to play a pivotal role to conserve this invaluable gift of nature. She also listed the initiatives being taken by the District Administration Rajouri in this regard.

The WWO also assured to provide all possible aid to the women in case of any domestic violence and urged upon them to bring in notice of the MSK such cases and avail the necessary benefits provided by the Department.

Later, a plantation drive was also carried out and the team of the MSK urged upon the common masses to launch a massive afforestation drive to enhance the green cover in the district.

BDC Chairperson Manjakote and Block Development Officer Manjakote were also present on the occasion.
