MSK Shopian begins awareness campaign on self-employment schemes

Shopian: With an aim to ensure financial empowerment of women through enrolment under various self-employment schemes, the District Level Centre for Women—established under Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme for empowerment of rural women organised an awareness camp at Shirmal, Shopian.
The camp was organised in collaboration with ICDS Project, Shopian.
Women Welfare Officer, Mohasina Mukhtar and District Coordinators Mehvish Yaqoob and Saima Khurshid apprised participants about various self-employment schemes of the government and called upon them to avail benefits entailed under these schemes.
The participants were made aware about benefits and eligibility criteria under schemes like Seed Capital Fund Scheme, Youth Startup Loan Scheme, Himayat Employment Scheme, Term Loan Scheme, Micro Financing Loan Scheme, Women Entrepreneurship Program besides schemes of Handloom, Handicraft departments, KVIC, KVIB and Industries.
Pertinently, Central Government has established District Level Centre for Women under Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme in each district which is mandated to identify problems faced by women in availing various government schemes, generating spreading awareness about schemes besides monitoring their implementation.
