MTMP Phase 2.0: 2-day Food processing Training for women begins at Sartingal- Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH : To acquaint the women about the processing of fruits and vegetables on scientific lines, the Department of Horticulture Doda today organised a two day fruit and Vegetable processing training for women, here at Sartingal- Bhaderwah under My Town My Pride (MTMP 2.0).

As many as 70 women attended the training programme on the first day.

Chief Horticulture Officer, Rakesh Kotwal, in his address asked the participants to establish Fruit processing units and avail subsidy to the tune of 60%. The fruits and vegetables are perishable and need immediate processing to get optimum price and to reduce post harvest losses.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, Dil Mir Choudhary stressed on the promotion of local and traditional products as tourists demand local products.

Manager cum Chemist Bhaderwah, Bharat Bhushan emphasized on scientific processing of food products by using modern technology so that both quality and nutritional value of the products was preserved while processing. He also educated the participants regarding different Training programmes being conducted by the Department for the welfare of the farmers/ Orchardist and Budding Agripreneurs.
