MUMKIN Scheme: DC Ramban handovers keys of commercial vehicles to young beneficiaries
RAMBAN 0: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam handed over keys of subsidized small commercial vehicles to 4 young beneficiaries of the district under the youth livelihood programme ‘Mumkin’, here today.
Chief Planning Officer, Kasturi Lal; District Panchayat Officer, Sunil Bhutyal; Assistant Director, District Employment & Counselling Centre, Naresh Kumar; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh; District Social Welfare Officer, Waheed-Ur-Rehman; Designated Nodal Officer, JKEDI, Yashpal and various senior officers also present on the occasion.
After handing over the keys of the vehicles to beneficiaries, the DC said that the government is on a mission to uplift, mentor and provide sustainable livelihood to the youth of Jammu & Kashmir under the “MUMKIN” scheme.
The idea behind this initiative is to provide small commercial vehicles to youths with reasonable subsidies from the government, enabling them to earn a decent livelihood, he added.
While appreciating the efforts made by the District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC), Ramban and other allied departments for linking the eligible candidate with the scheme, the DC asked the youth to take benefit from various other youth oriented schemes.
The DC informed that the selection Committee had selected 70 candidates out of 148 applicants under the MUMKIN scheme of Mission Youth through draw of lots. He said that this process will continue and very soon another group would be selected, besides motivating the unemployed youth to avail such novel employment schemes of the government to not only employ themselves but also for others.
