Music Maestro & Padma Shri Awardee Shubha Mudgal addresses the Convocation Ceremony of Vijaybhoomi University

Mumbai : India’s first liberal professional university, Vijaybhoomi University conducted its 3rd Convocation ceremony at the campus yesterday. The renowned musician, composer, and singer & Padma Shri awardee, Subha Mudgal was the Chief Guest and Mr. Sunil Rohokale, CEO and MD, ASK Asset and Wealth Management Group was the Guest of Honor for the event. Shri Sanjay Padode, President, Vijaybhoomi University  and  Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay, Vice-Chancellor, Vijaybhoomi University graced the occasion with their presence along with other dignitaries, senior faculty members, students & parents.

The graduating batches included the students of BBA and MBA from Jagdish Sheth School of Management (JAGSOM) and B.Music (in Music Production and Hindustani Playback Vocals) from True School of Music (TSM).

Sharing her experience, Shubha Mudgal said, It’s been several decades since I started performing music and it’s my honor to work with the finest musicians but when I introduce myself to somebody, people want to know about my Gurus more than awards and performances. And for me, that’s something I wanted to share with you because when you go out in the competitive world and say you are a graduate of Vijaybhoomi University, you will get a certain respect and standard that has been set by the University, which I hope you will always treasure and look after. As students of music, we are required to commit ourselves to a lifelong immersion in the subject that we are studying. I wish you all to remain a student all your life. Keep learning so that you can share more of your knowledge with others. There are so many schools in your university, each one of them coexisting harmoniously and peacefully and not threatening each other. Isn’t that what India is about diversity which really respects the others as well. I’m sure you will come up with wonderful ideas that will make you the leaders for this country and for this world.

Addressing the graduates, Shri Sanjay Padode said, “I want to start off by saying a big congratulations to all the graduates and I am so proud of all of you to come this far by putting in all the efforts in your academic years. A special mention for Aswini Patro who has proven himself and excelled in every possible way to get the President’s medal. It’s lovely to witness such talent. Having said that, I would also like to remind all the students about our mission of being holistic, socially responsible and continuously employable professionals. Our guest of honor made a very important point about holistic build up which is physical fitness that even I am subscribed to in my life. I would urge every student to make that little investment and see how wonderfully your life will change. Then talking about social responsibility, I am sure most of you follow it.  Then comes the employability which I know most of you think is employment. It actually is the ability to add value to society at any point of time. As long as you can make yourself useful to society, I think you will always be employable. We all have this habit of asking a question which is “What am I going to get”. I think we should rather ask ourselves “What am I going to give”. As long as you are focused on that, you will be a continuous learner and never experience a failure.”

The event also witnessed conferring of awards, where the meritorious and outstanding students were recognised for their hard work and significant contribution.
