Musicians from Tanzania fight infodemic around COVID-19

As part of the #DontGoViral campaign launched by UNESCO in partnership with the Innovation for Policy Foundation (i4Policy), Siti Amina and Msafiri Zawose, internationally renowned musicians from Tanzania, joined the battle against COVID-19 by composing and performing beautiful songs to educate their communities to take necessary actions during the pandemic.

Siti Amina is a renowned artist from Zanzibar – Tanzania, who has perfomed as part of Siti and The Band in different platforms including ZIFF (Zanzibar), Wikiendi Live (Dar es Salaam), Women’s Day at Alliance Francaise (Nairobi), Doadoa Festival (Kampala), Felabration Music Festival (Nigeria), ACCES (Nairobi, the Music Imbizo, Moshito Conference and Showcase (South Africa) and many more.

‘Homa ya Dunia’ is Siti Amina’s first single as a solo artist. Created in order to raise awareness about staying safe during the global pandemic of COVID-19. ‘Homa ya Dunia’ encourages us to protect ourselves while remaining positive and strong. “Music is a channel of hope,” says Amina.
