MVIRDC World Trade Centre to hold 6-month virtual diploma in foreign trade from May 17

Mumbai: The educational wing of Mumbai-based MVIRDC World Trade Center would virtually conduct a six-month post-graduate diploma in foreign trade that would commence from May 17.

The 64th batch of the six-month diploma spread over 80 sessions that will be held thrice week from 6-8PM, would enable participants to prepare and update in the arena of international trade as also face the emerging challenges thrown by the pandemic.

The curriculum with five modules, case studies, guest lecturers held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday will impart in-depth knowledge on overseas markets, marketing methods, documentation, finance, insurance, shipping and logistics as well as importing goods from other countries, foreign exchange and regulations pertaining to exports and imports.

Participants will undergo project assignment with viva voce to gauge the application aspects of the modules studied.

The course assumes significance in the backdrop of India’s merchandise exports growing at 197% in the just concluded month of April.

With Asia’s third largest economy being the 10th largest importer of goods and services in the world and also the sixth largest exporter of services set to regain its lost mojo, India is set to emerge as a hub of global supply chain in the post-pandemic era.

Moreover, the policy and procedures imbibed in the curriculum would enlighten and empower the participants to be a key stakeholder in the foreign trade segment in the years to come.
