‘My Town My Pride’ begins with citizen services Melas, interactions, inspection of development works in Jammu
Jammu: My Town My Pride programme initiative of the JKUT Government to provide governance at the door steps of public in the urban areas on the pattern of the B2V, today begun in district Jammu with organization of Citizen Services Mela, interaction sessions and inspections of the ongoing development projects.
Pertinent to mention, the 2 day ‘My Town My Pride’ has started in 4 zones of Jammu Municipal Corporation and 7 Municipal councils of Urban Local bodies including MC Bishnah, Arnia, R S Pura, Ghomanhasan, Akhnoor, Jourian and Khour.
The program started with an interaction session at JMC complex Town hall Jammu where Financial Commissioner Health, Atal Dullo and 3 other visiting Officers interacted with Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta, Deputy Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma, Corporators and Chairpersons of the Corporation.
Commissioner JMC, Avny Lawasa gave a powerpoint presentation and apprised the visiting officers about the overall functioning of the Corporation. She highlighted various achievements of the Corporation in providing well services to the public in urban areas and also informed them about the development works completed so far and ongoing development works.
Mayor JMC, Deputy Mayor and other Corporators also apprised the visiting officers about the challenges, demands and issues of public concern. They also put forth various demands before the visiting officers for redressal of the same.
The visiting officers visited their respective zones allotted to them and held public interactions there. The officers also listened to the grievances of the public and assured them that all their genuine demands, issues would be taken into consideration for their early redressal.
The visiting officers also inspected various ongoing development works in the municipal limits; the concerned officers apprised them about the works completed so far and future work plan.
Meanwhile, a two day grand mela ‘Citizen Services Mela’ was also organized at Parade Ground Jammu for the residents living in JMC limits to register them for various government schemes.
Various departments have set up their counters in the camp for registration of eligible persons under the schemes pertaining to their respective departments. Several services were made available including, registration of beneficiaries under Pradahn Mantri Awas Yojana, PM Street Vendors Atamnirbhar Nidhi Scheme, Adhaar seeding, caste certificates, domicile certificates, grievances redressal, old age pension scheme, ICDS services, Handloom/ Handicraft products,
During the camp, a large number of people were registered under Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PM Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY), PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana(PMJJBY), PM Mudra Yojana (PMMY),Old age pension scheme, National Family Benefit Scheme( NFBS), Mission Indradanush, PM Mutra Vandana Yojna(PMMVY), PM Ujjwala Yojna (PMUJ), Himayat Skill Development, PMEGP and other schemes.
Moreover, special counters were also set up by the Revenue department for issuance of domicile certificates and Caste Certificates to the public.
The people of Jammu city and adjoining areas participated in the Mela with enthusiasm and extended gratitude for organizing citizen services Mela for the public. “This is a great step of Jammu and Kashmir Government to organize a Mela for providing various facilities at a single point” Shubam Gupta a local said.
Pertinent to mention such meals are also being organized in all the municipal council areas for redressal of public grievances and on spot issuance of Domicile certificates, caste certificates and for registration of beneficiaries under various government schemes.
