“My Town My Pride” culminates in Kishtwar amid series of activities;Secretary FG&P launches several developmental works

Kishtwar: The ” My Town My Pride “programme culminated today in Kishtwar town amid series of activities held as the part of this maiden urban public outreach and development mission.
The Visiting Officer, Secretary Floriculture, Gardens and Parks, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed, laid the foundation stones of various developmental projects in the town, besides inspecting progress on the ongoing developmental works.
Earlier in the morning, the Secretary chaired the meeting of district officers and reviewed department wise and sector-wise physical and financial status of various works, Centrally Sponsored Schemes like PMAY-(U), PMDP(U)/IPDS and Languishing projects.
Additional District Development Commissioner Mohammad Hanief Malik; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; President Municipal Council, Riyaz Ahmed Zargar; Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Amir Hussain; EO Municipal Council, Tariq Balwan, besides concerned District officers and XEns of JKPCC ,PWD and PDD attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussion regarding the pending land compensation, installation of street lights in the town, extension of Bus Stand, status of staff in Municipal Council, implementation of various schemes of Horticulture in the town among others were held.
Progress under PHE, Health and PDD sectors was also reviewed in the meeting.
The Secretary directed the Xen PHE to expedite the construction of the filter plant and allied works in order to maintain adequate supply of water to the town.
He stressed upon the Xen PWD (R&B) Kishtwar to focus on the upgradation and construction of internal roads.
On the request of the district admin, the Secretary assured to take up with the higher authorities the matter of allowing shifting of patients of district Kishtwar to GMC Srinagar via Sinthan road.
Meanwhile, the Secretary inspected various ongoing development works, including 50 bedded SC Hostel at GDC Kishtwar, Indoor Sports Stadium at GHSS Girls Kishtwar and Saffron Development Farm Berwar.
He also laid the foundation stone of the Bus Stand Chowk near upper Bus stand and underground water reservoirs in Zone 9 of ward 11 and Ward 12.
Besides he also inaugurated the office of the Tariq Memorial Charitable Trust.
He also launched Swachhta Abhiyan at Dak Banglow Kishtwar and felicitated the civic workers of the Municipal Council for their dedicated work during COVID-19 pandemic. In the evening, he visited the Power house Dul Hasti HEP and interacted with the officials there besides reviewing the functioning of the power house.
