My Town My Pride programme commences in 3 Municipal areas of Doda District
Doda: A large number of People of the three towns of District Doda today participated in the prestigious My Town My Pride programme.
The programme is being conducted under the overall supervision of District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode.
‘My Town My Pride’ programme is an ambitious and innovative initiative of the JKUT government to reach out to the people with various services and strengthen the Urban Local Bodies.
In Doda township the main function was organised at Boys HSS. The was inaugurated by ADDC, Surat Singh in presence of ADC, Kishori Lal Sharma.
At Bhaderwah the main event was held at Dak Banglow where visiting officer, Additional Secretary Hospitality and Protocol Department, Pawan Singh Rathore, inaugurated and presided over the event, while at Thathri, Visiting Officer, Director Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Imam Din inaugurated and chaired the function.
Attractive stalls of the service delivery departments were put up at Boys HSS Doda, Dak Banglow Bhaderwah and Boys HSS Thathri which were main attraction for the public. Visiting officers inspected the stalls and public got there issues settled on the spot at concerned departmental stalls.
Forenoon session of day started with interaction with ULB members, frontline government functionaries, social activists/ NGOs, prominent citizens, etc. The informal discussion with Members of ULBs and public gave visiting officers the idea of issues and concerns of the town.
During the afternoon session, Visiting officers along with ULB members inspected waste-management facilities, community/public toilet facilities, completed and ongoing PMAY-U houses, government assets, community halls, local schools, health institutions, AWCs, banks, water bodies etc. They also visited important ongoing and languishing projects/ works.
