Nagoya University: Dr. Dashbalbar Gangabaatar, Designated Professor of the Asian Satellite Campuses Institute, appointed to the Constitutional Court Justice in Mongolia

The State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia has recently appointed Dr. Dashbalbar Gangabaatar, Designated Professor of the Asian Satellite Campuses Institute at Nagoya University, to serve on the country’s Constitutional Court from October 7, 2021.



Dr. Dashbalbar was awarded his LL.M. degree in 2005 and his LL.D. degree in Comparative Law in 2011 from the Graduate School of Law, Nagoya University. Currently, he conducts various research and educational activities as a professor of constitutional law at the School of Law, National University of Mongolia and as a designated professor of the Asian Satellite Campuses Institute at Nagoya University. He served as the Director of the Mongolia Satellite Campus until October 2021.



Dr. Dashbalbar’s research covers a broad area of law including not only public international and constitutional laws, but also property, land, and environmental laws. In his doctoral thesis entitled “Securing Herders’ Right of Access to Pastureland in Mongolia” (written in English), he analyzed in detail the legal framework and challenges that herders have in securing their rights of access to pastureland in Mongolia, and reflected on the approach to establish the appropriate laws. Since graduating, he has continued to publish many books and articles.
