Nagoya University: Former Distinguished Invited Professor Syukuro Manabe Selected to Win the Nobel Prize in Physics 2021

Dr. Syukuro Manabe, former Distinguished Invited Professor of Nagoya University, has been selected to receive the Nobel Prize in Physics 2021 “for the physical modelling of Earth’s climate, quantifying variability and reliably predicting global warming,” according to the Nobel Prize announcements on Tuesday October 5, 2021.



Dr. Manabe taught at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University, as a Visiting Faculty Member between October 2006 and September 2007. Then, as a Distinguished Invited Professor, he was committed to and supported the promotion of research and education at the University from December 2007 to March 2014.
