Nanjing University Hosts Governor Wu Xiaojun of Qinghai Province and Delegation for Investigation Visit
On May 17, Wu Xiaojun, deputy secretary of the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and governor, Cairang Tai, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and deputy governor, Yang Zhiwen, deputy governor, and other leaders came to our school for investigation and inspection to discuss and exchange cooperation matters such as the preparation for the establishment of Qinghai Institute of Technology. Tan Tieniu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Nanjing University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, received the delegation at the Xianlin Campus.
Wu Xiaojun, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, thanked Nanjing University for its selfless dedication and all-out efforts in the preparation process of Qinghai Institute of Technology. He said that General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during his inspection in Qinghai that “Qinghai’s greatest value lies in ecology, its greatest responsibility lies in ecology, and its greatest potential lies in ecology.” He pointed out Qinghai’s strategic position and development positioning in the overall development of the country from a high position. . The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government continue to deepen the understanding of the “three largest” provincial conditions, accelerate the cultivation and development of new productive forces, and actively prepare for the establishment of Qinghai Institute of Technology. This applied research university of science and engineering has both the cultural characteristics of Hehuang and the atmosphere of the new era. It is a milestone in the development of Qinghai. Nanjing University has always cherished the idea of ”the great one of the country”, breathing with the times and sharing the fate of the nation, and has set a benchmark and set an example in education and youth assistance. We look forward to gaining greater support from schools and further deepening provincial-school cooperation through this exchange.
On behalf of the school, Tan Tieniu welcomed Wu Xiaojun and his delegation to the school for guidance and exchanges, and thanked the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government for their long-term support and concern for the development of NTU. He pointed out that the cooperation between the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government and Nanjing University has a solid foundation and broad space for cooperation. Promoting the preparation for the establishment of Qinghai Institute of Technology is an important measure to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and improve the level of higher education in Qinghai. Yang Zhiwen introduced the preparations for the establishment of Qinghai Institute of Technology. He expressed the hope that Nanjing University would provide further help and guidance in terms of discipline construction, talent training, teacher introduction, and institutional mechanisms.
