Nanjing University Hosts Special Party Discipline Class by Suzhou Campus Party Working Committee Secretary

In order to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and important instructions on party discipline education, in accordance with the unified deployment of the school party committee on carrying out party discipline education in a solid manner, and implement the requirements of the “Implementation Plan of the CPC Nanjing University Committee on Carrying out Party Discipline Education”, on the morning of June 19, Zheng Hairong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Nanjing University, vice president, secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of Suzhou Campus, gave a profound and rich party class on party discipline education for all teachers and students of Suzhou Campus with the theme of “Learning discipline, rectifying the work style, strictly observing the bottom line, serving the country with science and technology, and taking responsibility”, educating and guiding teachers and students to learn, know, understand and abide by discipline, and firmly support the “two establishments” and resolutely implement the “two safeguards” with practical actions. Gu Gongliang, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Suzhou Campus, presided over the event.

In the special party class, Zheng Hairong deeply interpreted the spirit of the document “Notice on Carrying out Party Discipline Education in the Whole Party” issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, further promoting teachers and students to deeply understand the importance of party discipline learning, and combined with rich cases in the field of higher education since the 18th CPC National Congress, he explained the six major disciplines of the “Regulations on Disciplinary Actions of the Communist Party of China” in a simple and easy-to-understand manner with extensive references. Afterwards, he specifically elaborated on the connotation of the spirit of scientists, vividly recounted the glorious deeds of Mr. Qian Xuesen who dedicated himself to the country, and focused on introducing the legal system of integrity construction, further emphasizing that “academic misconduct” should be resolutely eliminated to ensure the integrity and fairness of scientific research.

He pointed out that as university workers, we must always stay sober, keep compliance with rules and regulations in mind, internalize them as codes of conduct, constantly strengthen our sense of discipline, strengthen self-discipline, improve our immunity, enhance our political resolve, disciplinary resolve, moral resolve, and resolve to resist corruption, and always be loyal, clean, and responsible.
