Nanjing University Hosts University of Zambia Delegation for Academic Collaboration

From July 2 to 15, 2024, a delegation from the University of Zambia visited Nanjing University for a 14-day academic exchange. The two universities co-hosted a conference on “China-Zambia Cooperation on Agriculture and Rural Development,” which aimed to explore Zambia’s agricultural and rural development, and enhance cooperation between the two nations.

During their visit, the delegation participated in lectures and discussions on topics such as agricultural technology and energy development, as well as climate change and agricultural production. They also visited rural areas in China, including Xiaogang Village, Yangzhou, and Taizhou.

On July 11, Ding Aijun, Assistant President of NJU, met with the delegation.

The delegation was hosted by NJU Center of African Studies. The Center is known for its extensive research on Africa. Its research fields cover geographic studies, Sino-African economic relationships, Africa’s traditional culture, history and geopolitics. It is also one of the earliest domestic institutions in China to focus on African agricultural issues.
