Nanjing University Modern Analysis Center Successfully Passes National Qualification Accreditation (CMA) Re-examination and Renewal

From May 13 to 15, the National Certification and Accreditation Administration commissioned the National Metrology Certification University Review Group to conduct an on-site review of the qualification accreditation and re-certification of the Modern Analysis Center of Nanjing University. Zheng Hairong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Nanjing University and vice president, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Liu Wenqi, head of the National Metrology Certification University Review Group and the University of Science and Technology of China.

Zheng Hairong, on behalf of Nanjing University, welcomed the arrival of the expert group and pointed out that this review is a centralized test of the quality management and technical level of the Modern Analysis Center of Nanjing University. He hopes that this review will help promote construction and reform, and continuously improve the school’s testing service capabilities and management and operation capabilities. Sun Tao, director of the Modern Analysis Center, reported on the basic situation of the center, the operation of the quality system, and the preparations for the application for qualification certification.

During the review, the expert group conducted on-site review and assessment of the center’s quality management system, personnel competence level, equipment configuration and working environment from the two aspects of management and technology in accordance with the requirements of the “Administrative Measures for Qualification Accreditation of Inspection and Testing Institutions” and “Criteria for Qualification Accreditation of Inspection and Testing Institutions” of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China. The expert group conducted on-site assessments of the center’s quality management system, personnel competence level, equipment configuration and working environment from the two aspects of management and technology, and conducted on-site assessments of the three categories, 21 parameters and 32 standards applied for this time. 20 on-site test reports (including the corresponding original test records) were issued. A total of 19 testers participated in the on-site experiment (accounting for 90% of the total number of testers in the center), and the on-site test involved 16 sets of instruments (accounting for 100% of all the instruments and equipment applied for in the center). At the same time, the review team also assessed the three authorized signatories and the highest management one by one.

After the assessment, the review team unanimously agreed that the organization structure and personnel of the Modern Analysis Center are reasonable and the responsibilities are clear. The configuration and accuracy of the instruments and equipment meet the technical standard requirements of the applied projects. The technical standards and technical specifications implemented are complete and currently valid. The laboratory personnel are capable of issuing accurate, reliable and fair test reports. The projects applied for certification all have the testing capabilities of relevant standards and can undertake third-party impartiality inspection work.

This metrology certification is the first time that the Modern Analysis Center of Nanjing University has applied for and successfully passed the metrology certification on-site review after moving to the new campus. This, to a certain extent, reflects the testing service capabilities and level of our Modern Analysis Center, and provides strong support for the smooth development of our teachers and students’ teaching and scientific research work and local services.

Relevant leaders from Nanjing University’s Party Committee, Laboratory and Equipment Management Office, Finance Office and other units, as well as all staff members of the Modern Analysis Center attended the meeting.
