Nanjing University Party Committee Studies Xi Jinping’s Key Speech and Reviews Related Work
On July 1, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the University held a meeting to convey and study the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the National Science and Technology Conference, the National Science and Technology Awards Conference, and the Conference of Academicians of the Two Academies, and to study implementation measures. Party Secretary Tan Tianniu presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Deputy Party Secretary and President Tan Zhemin attended the meeting.
The meeting pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech reflects the Party Central Committee’s high attention to scientific and technological work and its cordial care for scientific and technological workers across the country. It points out the direction of scientific and technological work in the new era and blows the charge to build a strong country in science and technology, which makes everyone deeply inspired and excited. The meeting emphasized that the nation will prosper if science and technology prosper, and the country will be strong if science and technology are strong. We must focus on new formulations, new conclusions, and new ideas, deeply study and understand the rich connotations and core essence of the speech, deeply understand the great significance of building a strong country in science and technology, and consciously shoulder the glorious mission of building a strong country in science and technology. We must further enhance our sense of historical responsibility, scientific and technological mission, and sense of urgency in work, keep in mind the “eight persistences”, integrate the “five strengths”, and practice the “five tasks”. Guided by the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech, we will anchor the strategic goal of building a strong country in science and technology by 2035, adhere to the integrated promotion of education development, scientific and technological innovation, and talent training, forge ahead with determination, and bravely shoulder the heavy responsibility to contribute to the acceleration of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement in Nanjing University, and create new achievements that are worthy of the times and the people.
The meeting heard a report on the progress of the implementation of the “three lists” for safety and stability, and called for an end to formalism, further refining risk points in light of actual conditions, making dynamic adjustments, strictly fulfilling responsibilities, and carrying out rectification to ensure the overall safety and stability of the school.
The meeting studied, deliberated and approved in principle the “Nanjing University Supervision Work Implementation Measures (Trial)”, requiring that the supervision work should fully play its role as a “weapon” to ensure implementation and promote development, focus on central tasks, and carry out supervision work with high standards and high quality. It should supervise tasks, progress and results, as well as understanding, responsibility and work style, to ensure that all decisions and arrangements are implemented and all key tasks are carried out in an orderly manner.
