Nanjing University President Tan Zhemin Meets with Imperial College London Provost

On July 28, Professor Tan Zhemin, President of Nanjing University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with Professor Ian Walmsley, Provost of Imperial College London, and his delegation.

Tan Zhemin extended a warm welcome to Walmsley and his colleagues. He reviewed the long-standing friendly exchanges between Nanjing University and Imperial College London, introduced the construction of Nanjing University’s Suzhou campus, and sincerely invited Walmsley to visit the Suzhou campus if he had the opportunity to engage in in-depth interaction on the construction of new engineering disciplines.

Walmsley introduced the progress of the construction of the new campus of Imperial College London and a series of measures to promote industrial integration. He said that this was his third visit to Nanjing University and he had deep feelings for Nanjing University.

The two sides also exchanged views on topics such as scientific research in the fields of artificial intelligence, energy, environment and sustainable development , international cooperation in running schools, and the joint construction of joint laboratories .
