Nanjing University’s Secretary Tan Tianniu Leads Delegation to China National Offshore Oil Corporation for Collaborative Research
On October 12, Nanjing University Party Committee Secretary and Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician Tan Tianniu led a team to China National Offshore Oil Corporation to conduct research and discussion to discuss the development of strategic cooperation between the university and the enterprise. China National Offshore Oil Corporation Chairman and Party Committee Secretary Wang Dongjin attended and presided over the symposium.
At the symposium, Tan Tianniu, on behalf of Nanjing University, thanked China National Offshore Oil Corporation for its warm reception. He pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the work of education, science and technology talents, and stressed the need to coordinate and promote the reform of the system and mechanism of education, science and technology talents. Tan Tianniu introduced the school’s development. Nanjing University has a rigorous academic style, profound cultural and historical heritage, and solid basic research. Its comprehensive strength has always been in the first echelon of Chinese universities; China National Offshore Oil Corporation, as a leader in offshore oil and gas development, has always fulfilled its mission of serving the country through industry. He looks forward to taking this exchange activity as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation between schools and enterprises, promote the two sides to work together in basic research, key technologies, platform construction, talent training, etc., and solidly promote the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, and make new and greater contributions to achieving national high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.
Wang Dongjin welcomed the Nanjing University delegation and introduced the basic situation of CNOOC. He pointed out that Nanjing University is a university with a long history of running schools, social influence and academic reputation. For a long time, CNOOC and Nanjing University have maintained a good school-enterprise relationship, and the two sides have cooperated closely in joint scientific research and talent training. He hopes that through this meeting and exchange, the cooperation between the two sides in the fields of joint scientific research, joint training of high-end talents and the development of industry-university-research-application systems will be further promoted to a new level.
At the meeting, Zheng Hairong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Nanjing University, Vice President, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced the current cooperation between the university and CNOOC in scientific research and talent training, as well as future cooperation plans. Lu Xiancai, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Nanjing University and Vice President, expressed the hope to further improve the cooperation mechanism with CNOOC, strengthen communication and enhance exchanges through “dual mentors” in talent training and the establishment of internship bases.
On the same day, at the ninth collective study session of the CNOOC Party Committee Theoretical Study Center Group (expanded), Tan Tianniu gave a special tutorial report on “Frontier Knowledge of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence” to members of the CNOOC leadership team.
The Nanjing University delegation also visited the China National Offshore Oil Corporation Exhibition Hall to learn about the development history and achievements of China National Offshore Oil Corporation.
