Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation Announces the Post Graduate Scholarship Programme 2020

Mumbai: In a recently concluded webinar, Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation (NSF) has announced the “Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation Post Graduate Scholarship Programme 2020” to recognize the scholars from across the country who will get the opportunity to pursue higher education in Europe and USA. The scholarship programme was started in 2005 and since then the foundation has built a network of 215 scholars across the globe. The scholarship which is a merit based scholarship is meant to recognize excellence which further helps to identify thought leaders and change makers and who have the capability to move the frontiers of research.

The scholarship provides full and part financial support and NSF also offers mentoring support in which mentors are selected as per the aspirations of the students to guide them for their professional progress and provide them the much needed impetus to take decisions for their future. The mentorship programme plays a significant role as the students get direct guidance from industry and research experts who help them in shaping their careers and fulfil their aspirations.

This year, from all over India, NSF received 1134 applications. 247 students were shortlisted through a rigorous selection process who were further screened across 22 diverse subject areas and were interviewed by experts from those subjects. 46 students were further selected for the final interview out of which the final 15 scholars were chosen. The 15 scholars will be going to five countries (USA – 6, UK – 5, Switzerland – 1, France – 2, Germany – 1) to pursue higher studies. Their subjects include – Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Health Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Marine Biology, Mathematical and Theoretical Physics, Public Policy and Development. Out of the chosen ones, 3 scholars will be pursuing PHD, 1 will be pursuing MPhil and 11 will do their Masters.

The institutions include – Columbia University, EMSE – France, ETH – Zurich, Harvard University, London School of Economics, Paris School of Economics, Purdue University, Stanford University, University of Boston, University of Cambridge, University of Essex, University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign and University of Oxford.
