NASA Awards Contract for Translation and Logistics Services
NASA has awarded a contract to TechTrans International (TTI) Inc. of Houston to provide translation, interpretation, language training, and logistics services for the agency’s International Space Station Program, with the option to support additional programs and NASA centers, if required.
The Russian Language and Logistics Services 2 (RLLS2) contract is a cost-plus-fixed-fee and incentive-fee contract with indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity ordering ability. The new contract’s phase-in period begins Wednesday, Sept. 1, with a two-year base period beginning Oct. 1, followed by two one-year options, one three-month option and one nine-month option that may be exercised at NASA’s discretion. The maximum potential value of the contract, including all options, is $59 million.
The statement of work includes translation, interpretation, and language training services, including real-time mission critical and expedited translations and interpretations. The contract also provides international logistics in support of space station operations in Russia and Kazakhstan. Those logistics include office management and administration for NASA office locations, management of government housing in Russia, inventory management functions for NASA assets in Russia, international shipping logistics, cargo integration at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, ground transportation, and management of the NASA vehicle fleet in Russia. The contract also includes support for international travel functions for NASA support of space station operations.
