National conference on physical education
ALIGARH : The Department of Physical and Sports Education, Aligarh Muslim University organized a two-day national conference on “Physical Education, Sports Sciences and Physical Therapy” in hybrid mode.
Addressing the inaugural session, the chief guest, Prof M.L. Kamlesh (Former Principal, LNCPE, Thiruvananthapuram) shared his experience and insights on the importance of physical education and sports in developing a healthy and active lifestyle. He emphasized the need for promoting physical education at all levels and stressed the need for carrying out research in these fields to generate innovative ideas for upgrading the quality of physical and sports activities.
In his presidential remarks, a senior faculty member of the department, Prof. Brij Bhushan Singh urged the concerned people to organize curriculum-based activities for students and provide them with knowledge of international benchmarks in sports.
The guest of honor, Prof Kalpana Sharma (Academic Director, Sports Authority of India, Patiala) spoke about the initiatives taken by the SAI to promote sports and physical education in the country. She highlighted the role of SAI in identifying and nurturing young talent in various sports and emphasized the need for collaboration and partnerships to achieve the common goal of promoting physical education.
In his address, Prof. Murataza emphasized the importance of physical education, sports sciences, and physical therapy in promoting healthy living and contributing to the overall well-being of individuals and society. He also highlighted the significance of the conference in providing a platform for researchers, experts, and practitioners to share their knowledge, experience, and insights in these fields.
The Organizing Secretary, Mr. Rashid Imran A. Khan delivered the concept note, while Prof Syed Tariq Murataza delivered the welcome address.
The Chief Organizing Secretary, Dr. Merajuddin Faridi conducted the programme and Dr. Mohd Imran extended the vote of thanks.
