National Education Policy Passed – TCS iON hails the pivotal moment in history

Our 1st August 2020, our honorable Prime Minister shared his thoughts on NEP 2020, he elaborated on how the policy focuses on knowledge, innovation and skill development.

NEP 2020 is not just a policy but a reflection of the aspirations of millions of Indians. Its people and future-centric. It promises a world-class exposure to Indian students as it also aims at partnering with the top 20 educational institutions across the globe.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Venguswamy Ramaswamy, Global Head, TCS iON, a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization said,

“The release of the National Education Policy is a pivotal moment in the history of the Indian educational system. In the three decades since the last policy was framed, the social, political and economic environment of the country has undergone significant changes. The Education sector needed something that could completely re-imagine and re-mould the creative capacities of students and youth. The #NEP2020 is a step in that futuristic direction. It has the architecture of inclusivity, creativity, flexibility and technology to enable India to re-write the next chapter of Education.”

He further added, “The #NEP2020 focus on curriculum and pedagogical framework for early childhood will help developing sharp acumen at an early age. The extension of RTE to 18 years will democratize higher education. With the ramping up of digital and multilingual education, accessibility will increase across the country. Introduction of multi-disciplinary platforms will be a game-changer for the country.”

While these reforms were long overdue and NEP has touched some key levers which will have a significant impact on the Indian education system, we hope #NEP2020 is executed on the ground in a rigorous way. To build this vital framework needed for the transformation of the education sector in India, TCS and TCS iON will partner the Government and the sector ecosystem and extend its rich expertise in reimagining the future of Education.
