National Geographic’s 2021 calendar celebrates Spanish Biosphere Reserves

As part of the 50th anniversary of UNESCO’s MAB Programme, National Geographic has published its traditional calendar entitled “Spain, World Leader in Biosphere Reserves 2021”. The spread was distributed with the January issue of the magazine.

The calendar includes spectacular photos of the country’s biosphere reserves highlighting the diversity of ecosystems as well as the cultural richness of these sites.
Spain has a total of 52 biosphere reserves, making it the country with the most biosphere reserves in the world. These sites represent 12% of the national territory, where some two million people live.
