National Highway Authority of India signs MOU with two engineering colleges of JIS Group

Kolkata: JIS Group is proud to announce that NHAI has collaborated with two engineering colleges of JIS Group, Narula Institute of Technology and JIS College of Engineering for working together with mutual co-operation for improvement of highway infrastructure.

This association will facilitate the faculty, researchers and students of the institutes to familiarize with the latest trends in the highway and transportation sector with a common objective of sharing knowledge in their respective domain. These institutes may adopt nearby stretches of NHs which may be used as a field of study for faculty, researchers and students. With these associations, NHAI facilitates internship opportunity to the students of these institutes. Students will get a chance to receive monthly remuneration under the National Highway Authority project.

 

The objective is to leverage the intellectual prudence of students and faculty towards the improvement of road infrastructure ecosystem of the country. The partner institutes will study improvement prospects in safety, maintenance, riding comfort, removal of congestion points and usages of new technologies etc. on the adopted stretches and give suitable suggestions to NHAI for consideration.

 

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group added, “We are proud to be part of this prestigious project of NHAI. NHAI is going to provide a unique platform to the students, which is going to eradicate the industry – institution gap. With this association our students will get hands-on experience by working on nearby highway stretches voluntarily.”

 

NHAI will also support the creation of lab infrastructure in the institute and can also sponsor a relevant research project that helps in using alternative resource material and improve the quality of roads.
