National Periodontist Day observed

ALIGARH  : The Department of Periodontia and Community Dentistry, Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College (ZADC), Aligarh Muslim University organized a series of events to mark the National Periodontist Day, which included an awareness programme and a Perio Quiz.

Prof Vivek Kumar Sharma, Chairman of the department, emphasized the importance of preventive care and education to ensure a healthier oral environment, and supervised a personal guidance to every patient visiting the OPD to educate them about the oral hygiene practices. He thanked the Indian Society of Periodontology for its support in organizing the event.

In a Perio Quiz competition, held to engage the undergraduate and postgraduate students in knowledge enhancing and community awareness events, nine teams with four members each, contested under the supervision of Dr. Afaf Zia, who commended the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to advancing their understanding of periodontics.

The team, comprising Dr. Sidra, Dr. Ramsha, Dr. Sabaat and Dr. Saman Afaque, won the quiz and received wooden toothbrushes and certificates from the Indian Society of Periodontology.
