National Science Day 2022 – Moving Towards a Sustainable Future by Following an Integrated Approach in Science and Technology
National Science Day is celebrated each year in India on 28th February. It is celebrated in honour of the discovery of ‘The Raman Effect’ by Dr C.V. Raman on 28th February, 1928. Dr C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in Physics for his discovery of the Raman Effect.
The purpose behind celebrating the National Science Day is to spread the message about the importance of science and technology in everyday life to the people.
Every year, National Science Day is celebrated with a different theme. National Science Day 2022 theme is ‘Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a sustainable future.
The theme was launched by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who specifically mentioned that the purpose behind selecting this theme was to raise public appreciation and awareness about the scientific issues. He also mentioned that important scientific days like the National Science Day should not only be a one-day event, but need to be celebrated on a regular basis.
The theme for National Science Day 2022 focuses on the need to work in an integrated manner and in co-ordination for integrated, theme-based projects.
The National Science Day also involves giving away several prizes and awards for excellent work done in the field of Science and Technology.
Mr. Ramana Prasad, who is a globally renowned entrepreneur, Educationist, and the chairman of AI School of India mentioned that the National Science Day, which is held every year in India is important to foster the Scientific spirit not only in the adults, but also young children in Schools, Colleges, and Universities in India. Towards achieving this objective, AI School of India conducts Science related workshops, contests, and quizzes for the students throughout the year to motivate the students in the field of science
Mr. Ramana Prasad also quoted that “Science means power to the people and for the people”. Science enables the people to SHARE, LEARN, and IMPROVE.
The National Science Day theme empowers various institutions to collaborate, grow, and work for a common cause, The Welfare of Humans and Nature.” Mr. Ramana Prasad mentions that the future is going to be dominated by Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and his message to Indian students is a strong foundation in Data Science and AI will prepare them to become innovators and global leaders.
