National Science Day at AMU ABK School-Girls

 

Aligarh : Scientific temper and interest in students of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) ABK School-Girls was evoked in the National Science Day celebrations held to mark the discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by Indian physicist Sir C V Raman.

Addressing the students as the Chief Guest, Prof Qudsia Tahseen (OSD) encouraged the school students to develop scientific mindset and critical thinking and contribute in the field of science and technology for national development.

Through a power-point presentation, she shed light on the significance of biodiversity and raised awareness on the reasons for climate change and global warming.

It is imperative to be curious and ask questions to clear doubts and have a grasp of science concepts, said Prof Qudsia.

In the welcome address, Dr Samina (School Principal) said, “National Science Day is an occasion which can make students aware of our Country’s journey in the field of science and technology. It is also a day to uphold this tenet among the students.

Science teachers, Afroz Ali, Farhana Sadiq and Haider Ali Niazi spoke about the advancements in various fields of science.

Muneer Ahmad extended the vote of thanks and Ghausia Iqbal conducted the programme.
