National Seminar on Interdisciplinary Science Research held at S.P College, Srinagar
SRINAGAR : The Research Hub for Electronics, IT and Computer Sciences, Sri Pratap College, Srinagar today organized a National Seminar on Interdisciplinary Science Research.
The Seminar focused on the multidisciplinary advancements in research and its aim was to present the multifarious achievements carried out in interdisciplinary research in sciences.
The Guest speaker for the event was Prof. (Dr) Rakesh Vaid, University of Jammu, and Vice Chairman of IEEE EDS Delhi Chapter.
Dr Vaid enlightened the audience about the various researches and how they could be used in interdisciplinary areas. He also encouraged students and scholars to participate vigorously in the research projects as research is a whole world of erudition and it is a way to supplement science education and innovation.
Dr Shah Jahan Wani, Coordinator Research Hub for Electronics, IT and Computer Sciences, also Head Dept of Electronics and Dean School of Engineering & Technology introduced the objective of the seminar. He presented a conceptual review of research studies and programs related to interdisciplinary science learning in different boundary-crossing scenarios including within science.
He also highlighted the fact that since the inception of Hydrobiology Laboratory in 1974, diverse research has been carried out in the college, so the concept of research is not something new to the college.
Earlier, Prof Bashir Ahmad Mir, Head Department of Chemistry formally welcomed the guest, research scholars, faculty and students on behalf of the College Principal, Prof (Dr) Khurshid Ahmad Khan.
Coordinator Hydrobiology Research Laboratory, Dr Shaista Musrat very comprehensively drew attention to the research projects being carried out in the college like Effect of Ascorbic acid on lead induced alterations on RBC’s of common carp, Cyprinus Carpio and Impact of Houseboats on the water body in the Nehru basin of Dal Lake, Kashmir, India.
She also emphasized the development of scientific and research oriented temper amongst the PG students of the college.
A number of research scholars, principal investigators and their assistants deliberated and presented their respective research projects.
Faculty members and students, especially the IG/PG students of various science departments of the college attended the seminar.
