National Sports Competition of Eklavya residential schools in Bhopal from December 9

Bhopal : The five-day National Sports Competition of Eklavya residential schools will commence on Monday December 9 at T.T. Nagar Stadium, Bhopal. Final shape is being given to the preparations for the competitions. Tribal Welfare Minister Shri Omkar Singh Markam today unveiled the stole, t-shirt and memento (coffee mug) prepared for the competition and inaugurated an exhibition focussed on the activities of the residential schools at the stadium. Principal Secretary, Tribal Welfare Smt. Deepali Rastogi was present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath will inaugurate the competition on December 9 at 5 pm. Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Arjun Munda will be chief guest and State Tribal Welfare Minister Shri Omkar Singh Markam will be special guest in the event. As many as 4, 500 players of 284 Eklavya schools of 20 states will exhibit their talents in 15 sports disciplines.

The sports competitions will be organized on 6 sports grounds of Bhopal. Athletics, Badminton, Kabaddi, Karate, Volley Ball, Boxing, Wrestling, Basket Ball, Taekwondo and Table Tennis competition will be held in T.T. Nagar Stadium. Football competition will be held in Motilal Nehru Stadium and MVM Ground. Archery competition will be held at Ankur School sports ground at 6 no. stop, Kho Kho and hand ball at Lal Parade Ground, Hockey at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium and swimming competition at Prakash Tarun Pushkar. Proper arrangements have been made for the accommodation and transportation of players and officials participating in the competition. Various committees have also been formed for the successful operation of the competition.
