National Voters Day: District Admin Reasi finalises activity calendar

Reasi: Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Rajinder Kumar Sharma today convened a meeting with the concerned officers to finalise the arrangements to be put in place for the smooth celebration of National Voters Day on January 25, 2021

During the meeting, it was highlighted that the theme of this year’s National Voters Day is “Making Our Voters Empowered, Vigilant, Safe and Informed”.

The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements being made by different Departments to mark the Day. It was given out that various functions will be held at district, subdivisions, Tehsils, and booth levels in which Officers, DDC Members, BDC Chairpersons, MC Presidents, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Councillors general public, civil society members, senior citizens, representatives of NGOs and others shall participate. It was decided during the meeting that at booth level Block Level Officers (BLO) shall facilitate the newly registered voters in a brief ceremony and shall remain stationed in their respective Polling stations.

They will also make the PWD voters aware of various facilities available for them at the polling stations such as ramps, wheelchairs, volunteers etc.

It was also decided that NVD will be celebrated at District HQ in association with Panchayats organizations, Academic institutions, civil society groups, organizations of youth volunteers etc. Rallies for future voters and new voters in schools and colleges shall be prohibited keeping in view the COVID19. The schools shall organise symposium/poster making competition as per past practice.

The meeting was attended by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mahore Santosh Sukhdeva; Chief Education Officer, Reasi Mushtaq Ahmed; Tehsildar Reasi, Munshi Ram; Tehsildar Bhoomag Akshay Rajan; DSWO Dr Gulshan Sharma and the Principals of different Schools.
