National Wildlife Week programmes conclude

 

ALIGARH  : The National Wildlife Week observational programmes held at the Department of Wildlife Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University concluded with the felicitation and certificate distribution ceremony. The winners of various competitive events, including the Wildlife Quiz and Poster-making competition, and the Plantation drive, were felicitated with prizes.

Addressing the occasion, the chief guest, Prof. Abdul Alim, Dean, Students’ Welfare, emphasized that National Wildlife Week stands as a testament to our commitment to preserving the incredible wildlife that adorns our planet and it also recognizes the tireless efforts of those who have dedicated their lives to the cause of wildlife conservation.

In his welcome address, Prof. Afifullah Khan, Chairman of the department, stated that National Wildlife Week serves as a reminder to renew our commitment to preserving our natural resources, flora and fauna, and it urges us to educate ourselves and others about the importance of wildlife conservation and to take concrete actions to safeguard our planet for future generations.

Dr. Sharad Kumar highlighted the significance of National Wildlife Week, while Dr. Kaleem Ahmed announced the results of the poster-making competition.

Ankita Chandra secured the first position, while Atri Upadhyay and Aqsa Jaseem got the second and third positions, respectively.

Dr Ahmad Masood Khan announced the results of the wildlife quiz competition. Syed Raza Haider, Umar Mushtaq and AtriUpadhyay won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

Sana Zamir, Ananya Virendra Prasad, Ankita Chandra, and Aqsa Jaseem played active roles in organizing the programme.

Fatima conducted the programme and Dr. Satish Kumar extended a vote of thanks.
