Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri organises District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament at Rajnagar

 

RAJOURI : Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India, on Monday organised District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament here at Panchayat Ghar Kewal.

The event witnessed participation of more than 200 youths.

The Resource Persons were Manisha Sharma, Assistant Labour Commissioner; Aijaz Dar Agriculture Extension Officer Budhal; Dr Abdul Latief Dar, Block Health Officer Budhal and Shahryar Dar BDO Rajnagar graced the program as Special Guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdul Latief Dar, BHO Budhal, laid special focus on various schemes of the Health Department such as Indradhanush, National Health Mission, PM Matrutva Vandhan Yojana. He said that under PMMVY, the government bears full cost of the pregnant woman from antenatal care to prenatal care to post delivery. He said that there is an urgent need of awareness among the rural women so that the benefit of the schemes reaches them and the mortality rate among children increases.

He thanked Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri for organising such events to generate awareness among the rural people.

Aijaz Dar, AEO Budhal, said that the block is blessed with a unique type of climate and geographical conditions and this makes it suitable for a wide range of cultivation. He said that Budhal Block is famous for its production of Rajmash and in the present times the production is decreasing. He said that the youth should take up agriculture as a subject and study it and adopt it as a profession. He also laid stress on various types of irrigation such as drip irrigation and sprinkling.

Manisha Sharma, Assistant Labour Commissioner Rajouri, mentioned about the Labour Cards and eShram Cards and said that under the scheme special assistance is provided to labourers in case of death and disability.

Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer NYK Rajouri, listed various Schemes being implemented by the Department of Youth Affairs implemented by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. He advised the youth to avail Self Employment Schemes. He also mentioned various schemes of Mission Youth such as Mumkin and Tejaswini under which Youth and women can avail benefits.

Shaharyar Dar, BDO Rajnagar said that the youth should become Job Providers instead of Job seekers. He proposed to start a unique initiative under which he offered special career counselling sessions for the local youth.

The event was successfully supervised by District Youth Officer, Nitin Hangloo and managed by Mohd Farooq, President Dodason Bala Lower Youth Club in presence of Farooq Inquilabi, Sarpanch Panchayat Kewal.
