Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan J&K, GCW Parade organise National Youth Parliament Festival
JAMMU: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan J&K, in collaboration with Government College for Women Parade Ground organized a state level National Youth Parliament on the College Campus.
As many as 46 youth from districts of Jammu & Kashmir UT and Ladakh UT, all being the winners and first runners up of District Level National Youth Parliament, participated in the State Level event.
Nisar Ahmed Butt, SD NYKS J&K and Ladakh was the chief guest, while Dr. Deepak Pathania, Assistant professor, Environmental Sciences, Dr. Seema Jamwal, Assistant Professor Political Science, Dr. Musavir Ahmad, NSS Program Coordinator, Kashmir University, Dr. Seema Zargar, Senior Officer, School Education Department and Dr. Shubra Jamwal, Assistant professor, English were the jury members.
Anmol Sharma from NYKS Jammu got the first rank, Faiza Basharat from GDC Poonch got the second rank and Quyima Aslam from S P College Srinagar got the third rank in the state level event.
The first three winners of state Youth Parliament shall participate at national level NYPF in New Delhi where 87 Winners from all States and UTs will participate in the National Youth Parliament Festival in person at 29 venues. Out of them, 29 first position holders will speak on the given topics while the remaining 58 will attend the proceedings.
Dr Gurpreet Kour, NSS Program Officer, GCW Parade and Organizing Secretary of the program both at Nodal Jammu level and state level took the initiative for organizing National Youth Parliament Festival.
The main objective of the programme is to hear the voice of youth between 18-25 years of age through deliberations in Youth Parliaments at District, State and National levels and to encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man’s point of view, form their opinions and express it in an articulate manner, to develop and enhance decision making abilities, to develop in them respect and tolerance for the views of others, to develop in them an understanding that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively, to obtain and document their opinions on Vision of New India and to make available their views to policy makers and implementers to take it forward.
