Nepal: 4 High Impact Community Development Projects built with financial assistance from India inaugurated
Three School buildings of Shree Malika Higher Secondary School, Lalikanda; Shree Bhairav Secondary School, Badabhairav; Shree Jagadish Secondary School, Badakhola and one Campus building of Shree Narayan Campus, Rampur in Dailekh District located in Karnali province of Nepal was recently inaugurated reflecting India’s development partnership with Nepal. These projects are built with GoI’s financial assistance of NRs.108.60 million in Dailekh under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’. They were formally handed over to concerned local authorities of Govt. of Nepal for full-fledged use for people’s development.
These projects were taken up as High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) under an Agreement between the Government of India and the Government of Nepal. All these school and campus building projects were implemented through DCC Dailekh. These school and campus buildings will help the students in the area by providing them with quality educational infrastructure and creating a suitable environment for good quality education in Dailekh District.
Since 2003, India has taken up over 544 HICDPs in Nepal and has completed 480 projects. Amongst these, 14 projects are in Karnali Pradesh of which 4 projects are in Dailekh. In addition to these, the Government of India has gifted 940 ambulances and 184 school buses to various hospitals, health posts and educational institutions in Nepal on the occasion of Independence Day and Republic Day of India. Amongst these, 6 ambulances have been provided to Dailekh district, to date. These projects by the Indian government complement the efforts of the Government of Nepal in augmenting infrastructure in the field of education.
