Nestlé India’s Project Jagriti completes seven years of encouraging healthy living across India
Nestlé India in association with MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child completes seven years of Project Jagriti, an initiative touching the lives of around 8.4 million direct and indirect beneficiaries across 8 states / union territories. The programme was rolled out in 2015 and has been reaching out to vulnerable communities to create awareness on health, nutrition and hygiene practices.
To commemorate this milestone and highlight seven years of community services and empowerment, a ‘Jagriti 7kaSaath’ event was organized and brought together different stakeholders. At the event, the project beneficiaries shared their stories of transformation. The dignitaries and beneficiaries also released the ‘Jagriti Pustak’, highlighting the impact and intervention made by the project so far.
Speaking on the occasion of completing seven years, Mr. Sanjay Khajuria, Director – Corporate Affairs, Nestlé India said, “Over the years, Project Jagriti has continued to focus on creating an enabling environment for the best health outcomes, in collaboration with the stakeholders from the community. The behaviour change that this programme has brought about is encouraging and we will continue working towards enabling healthier lives as we embark on the next phase of our journey of community transformation.’’
Dr. Sunil Mehra, Executive Director – MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child, added, “I congratulate the team of Project Jagriti, at MAMTA as well as Nestlé India, on the completion of seven years. We value our partnership with Nestlé India for working towards improving the lives of communities by building awareness around health and wellbeing, leading them towards a healthier and better future. My best wishes to the team for their upcoming initiatives to strengthen community development for enhancing health through empowerment and improved access to services in the country.”
