NetApp India Celebrates 9 Years of its Transformative Partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation

Bengaluru – NetApp India Pvt. Ltd. and The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF) are proud to announce the continuation of their long-standing partnership for the ninth consecutive year. This marks a milestone in NetApp’s commitment towards transforming the lives of government & government-aided school children, by providing them with nourishing meals and valuable support for their academic journeys. The MOU was signed by Ravi Chhabria, Managing Director, NetApp India, and Shridhar Venkat, CEO from The Akshaya Patra Foundation.

 

The partnership signifies a steadfast commitment to providing essential support to over 2.5K children and the equivalent of approximately half a million meals across Bengaluru. As a result, they are able to deliver nutritious mid-day meals throughout the academic year. Over the past eight years, NetApp India’s support has been instrumental in providing more than 4 million meals to children in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

 

Sharing his thoughts on the association, Ravi Chhabria, Managing Director, NetApp India, stated, “We are honoured to be a part of Akshaya Patra Foundation’s journey in providing nutritious meals to school children. Over the last eight years, we have enjoyed a fruitful partnership with the Foundation to aid hunger relief initiatives. This is the 9th year of our association, and we are thrilled to solidify our commitment through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). We will continue to amplify our shared mission to alleviate hunger and empower the younger generation.”

Our collaboration has not only helped alleviate hunger but has also empowered young minds to thrive through education. We remain committed to fostering a brighter future for generations to come.”

 

Sharing his thoughts on being a part of the skills-based volunteer program, Sagar Hirapur, Software Engineer – Dev Tools & Services, NetApp India, said, “While I have always been passionate about volunteering, I believe the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s skill-based volunteering program has provided me with the opportunity to not only contribute my time but also skills for the greater good. I’m grateful to NetApp for curating meaningful engagement opportunities for volunteers like me to partake in and make a difference.”

 

In addition to providing mid-day meals, NetApp India has also supported other initiatives, including:

· Covid-19 relief: NetApp India sponsored 10.6K+ ration kits & more than 8.7K vaccination kits. This has aided the foundation in providing food and other essential supplies to families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic

· Capex support: NetApp India has extended capex support, which has been used to improve the infrastructure of The Akshaya Patra Foundation kitchens, and to purchase kitchen equipment

· Volunteerism: NetApp India also actively engaged in activities, including awareness poster making, Leadership Ideathon, and carbon footprint calculation. The organisation’s skill-based volunteering initiatives have been instrumental in providing sustainable solutions for water conservation at TAPF kitchens
